Making instruments, or being a luthier, is what I am all about. I find the proces to be an amazing amalgamation of woodworking, science, art, self doubt, study, practice, and luck.

I am often asked why hand made instruments sound good and sometimes better than other instruments. I feel that one person, doing the best work they can, from start to finish, sets the hand made instrument apart. Thoughtful evaluation of each effort along with practice and repetition improve results over time. That is it. There are no secrets or mysteries. There is a never ending quest to improve, and with that, the hand made instrument becomes very special.
