It all started when…
I needed a new guitar. "How hard could it be?" I asked myself. Well....pretty hard, actually. I found that stringed instrument making is very challenging and quite rewarding. A couple of years into guitar making, a 5th grade orchestra teacher asked me if I could fix violins for local schools. "Well...I am not really sure...," I began. "Of course you can! Just look at how nice your guitars are!" she said. So I found myself repairing violins for the local public schools. They received great service as well as friendly rates and I got a lot of experience. A few years into violin repair I got the itch to start making them. I started building a viola as I found it the most interesting violin family instrument and I was learning to play one I had purchased. "You can't eat just one," as the saying goes, and ten years on I am having a blast making and repairing stringed instruments. I am now focusing on making violin family instruments and really enjoy it. I intend to spend the rest of my life making violins. I would love to make one for you!
